Wonderschön Switzerland - A Eight Day Trip - The Programme

The Curtain Raiser

Hello, So far we have seen series of blogs which took all of us to Russia (Moscow, Kazan and Saint Petersburg), Helsinki, Tallin, Riga and finally on a road through the Loire Valley of central France where we saw beautiful Castles and also the famous Mont St Michel on Normandy Coast.

Now I would take you to Switzerland on an eight-day trip to showcase a small and wonderful part of this country. Mostly around central Switzerland in and around Interlaken and Lucern. This post is a curtain-raiser to entice you to eagerly await the follow-on posts on Switzerland.

Day 6 - Visited Rhine Falls on Swiss - Germany Border.

Day 7 -  Visit Lucern City centre. Afternoon we took Lake Lucern Boat Cruize.

Day 8 - Lurecn - Zurich and flight back to India.

While in Switzerland, we stayed in B&B, utilised all modes of public transport like buses, local trains, long-distance trains, boats, Funiculars, Cable Cars, etc. Most of the travel except mountain railway for Jungfrau peak was complimentary as we took Swiss Rail Pass.

As for food, we cooked dinner on our own in the B&B, breakfast was either cooked by us or we managed with sandwiches picked up from "Coop" stores available on almost all medium size railway stations and cities. Lunch also was managed through Salad, etc picked up from where else but "Coop" again.

This trip, which was customised by us as per our requirement, was great fun. End of the trip, however, we felt that 8 days were too short to visit even this small region of this beautiful country.

  2. Sir. Wonderful itinerary and some very useful tips as well. We also use B&Bs and a lot when we travel. We also eat and drink locally and not in large hotels or restaurants, just local small places. It allows you get a more immersion travel experience.
